Hong Kong Workshop, China, October 20, 2011

The CoReach IPR in New Media held a one day workshop at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. The workshop was moderated by Asst. Professor Martin Doris. The Keynote speaker was Peter Cheung, Director of the Intellectual Property Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government.

2nd Annual World Congress of Forensics, Chongqing, China, October 16, 2011

Prof. Sylvia Kierkegaard delivered the keynote address at the 2nd Annual World Congress of Forensics on October 16, 2011 in Chongqing together with the Deputy Mayor of Chongqing, Mr. Lijun Wang. The latter is also the director of the Chongqing Public Security Bureau. The event received wide media coverage. Sylvia Kierkegaard spoke about DNA profile and Exchanges.

Co-Reach Summer School Highlights

The first leg of the Summer School Program was held in X'ian on August 15- 22, 2010 in cooperation with the Department of Law of X'ian Jiatong University. 2nd International Co-Reach Workshop on Intellectual Property Rights in the New Media, Hamburg , May 16-19, 2010

The Hans Bredow Institute has, together with its partners, hosted a workshop on IP enforcement on the internet from 16 to 19 May in Hamburg. The specific focus was on alternative copyright enforcement measures like filtering and co- or self-regulation.
The workshop emphasised possible actions and obligations for different types of internet providers when it comes to IP enforcement. To this aim, the different approaches by various jurisdictions were presented and compared: solutions like the “3 strikes and out” – i.e. users will be sanctioned (disconnected from the internet or download/upload speed throttled) by their providers after three notices – which was recently introduced as an option in the United Kingdom copyright law, were discussed alongside (other) technical measures or options and initiatives of self- and co-regulation... »»

The 1st International Co-Reach Workshop on Intellectual Property Rights in the New Media was held at the  Institute of Law , Chinese Academy of Social Science (CASS) on November 12-13, 2009.
